Pershing was created in 1981 by three boat builders to make laminate hull speedboats. In 1984 production moved to a purpose built factory a GRP motor yacht production started. The next year Fulvio Di Simoni, who has remained with the company as chief naval architect, designed their first major success, the Pershing 45.
In 1992 Pershing produced their first gas turbine yacht, the Pershing 70, demonstrating their innovative approach to design. In 1998 Pershing became part of the Ferretti group, the largest motor yacht manufacturer in the world. The company has a 56000 square metre yard in Mondolfo where it produces a range of high performance motor yachts from 46 to 115 feet.
The Pershing 46 is, in fact, 50 feet long and sleeps six in three cabins. It has twin 600h.p. shaft drives and a top speed of 37 knots. The aft cabin configuration means that the owners and guests have privacy.
The Pershing 50 (52’) comes as standard with twin MAN diesels of 800h.p. each, again on shafts, and reaches 36.5 knots. Fitted with the optional Arneson drives it is even faster.
The 56 is equipped with twin 1360h.p. motors and surface drives, giving the six guests and their crew a 48 knot ride. With three good sized cabins and a spacious saloon, this measures nearly 60’ LOA.
The 64 foot boat comes with twin 1550’s, surface drives and 46 knots.
The Pershing 72 has two 1823h.p. MTUs, a top speed of 45 knots and again has three double cabins plus crew (though 16 can be carried on board).
The Pershing 80 has a choice of 2x2030 or 2x2435h.p. engines and Arneson drives giving the 8 guests 43 or 50 knots. The 90’ gets 43 knots from the bigger option.
A new 108’ model is entering production sharing many features with the Pershing 115. This astonishing 115’ yacht comes with a choice of twin 3700h.p. MTUs giving 40 knots through two KaMeWa waterjets or an extra gas turbine and waterjet to enable the yacht to reach 53 knots.
